My first gouach'ing! I've never really painted with a traditional medium... except in art class lonnng ago.. but I don't really remember doing it often there.

Also, some sketches, a self portrait that I'm not pleased with ;P, a quick concept painting, and a color study.

I'm also trying to design a characters suit for this little story a few friends and I are doing.. Not that happy with it, but I'm slowly getting there I think.

A red barn and some guy walking in front of it! Originally I took a photo of a barn with a green tree in front of it.. but my friend showed me a painting where a woman in a white dress faded into the white background.. so I tried it.


Was trying to do a quick concept sketch.. all of those speed paintings by concept artists..



What was originally going to be just a basic sphere and color/lighting theory practice painting turned into a weird beached fish..

More female face studies.

Anatomy, clothing, ferrets, Heroes, and Spies from the 1950s.

So, this week I had the urge to draw storyboards or a tiny comic for for this little project a few friends and I are doing. Slowly, that turned into trying to lead up to the character design of the main assassin character.

Mostly studies and my lame attempts at costume design. Plus, 1950's spy movie heroines.

Also toss some ferrets and jungle animals that I did with my friend, and I'll say that was an okay week. I feel like I should have got more done though.. still.

Home. It's where the Legos are.

I found someone hiring a graphic designer in my city.. and their portfolio had some pretty bad things. I'm not saying my stuff is good, but it sure did give me some confidence.

So, practice: Took me about.. 3 hours? I 3D modeled the legos in 3D Studio Max 2009 and then took it into photoshop to.. touch it up. I can see little problems with the blue lighting I had in.. but overall, I think it is okay for the first one I've done.

Tomorrow I'll need a new idea to practice with..

Caprica Six and enslavement camps on alien planets!

I bet ALL of my viewers have just been wondering "Just what has that feller been doin'?" and I'll show you! ALL TWO OF YOU!

I realize now that I don't completely draw what I see.. which I want to try and work on that for the next few weeks.

So to start, I erased, drew, erased, drew, erased, and then drew some more.. This was the best one I got I guess. For some reason.. picasaweb seems to invert this jpg and only this jpg..


Also, I've been working on this for a while.. it's gone through multiple phases too. lol An enslavement camp on an alien planet where our main character is first viewing the planet.

ABORJELVIS - The King, Son of God, Ant Boar.

And the world was created in 6 days.. and on the 7th day god rested. The next day, God realized that his creations were too safe.. Unprepared for the real world.. so he combined the strength of an ant, the speed of a boar, the beautiful beard of Jesus (shaved off because it's hot on the barren plains of this alien planet), and the greased up curly hair-do of a would-be King who could woo a teen from the 1950's to death.

This Aborjelvis struck fear into the hearts of Gods creations, and it was good.
